Skyfall - Opening Scene: Car Chase (1080p)

From the opening scene of skyfall we can see that this film is an action film. Their are many conventions of an action film shown in the opening two minutes of this film. One of them being there is a car chase happening. There is alot of two shots. This would suggest that these two people will be the main characters. Also there is alot of stunts. It shows the motorbikes crashing at very high speed. Stunts would suggest that this is an action film.

The establishing shot is of the main character James bond, with him being in a lot of the shots it would mean the audience will warm to him. James bond is shown to have a gun and he is also wearing a very smart suit. This is very stereotypical of a secret agent. Also the location is very different to what the audience is used to and this would give them a sense of escapism.

There is also a fight scene with gun shots which is exciting for the audience, this will keep them entertained. Also the opening two minutes shows that the two main characters are on some sort of mission, this is a convention of an action film. The two main characters are a man and a woman, this could suggest that there could be romance later on in the film. There is a huge headquarters which looks very modern, this would suggest that they are on some sort of mission this would connote that they are secret agents.

The target audience of this film will be young adult men as there is fast paced editing along with gun shots and stunts. Women will also want to watch this film because there are a man and women as the main characters which could mean some romance. The music at the beginning is mysterious and it feels like it is building up to something. The pace of the editing of this film is very fast which would suggest that it is an action film.
